The Centennial Village is a significant decade long renewal project that replaces four existing student residence towers with 522,000 square feet of visually stunning living, dining and learning spaces contained within three buildings connected pedestrian circulation, terraces and plazas. The modernist inspired building form curves in response to Lake Osceola, creating an undulating effect by pairing the slender ends of buildings with the gentle bends of the facades. Resident floors extend out over transparent ground-level gathering spaces, revealing the activity of shared spaces and enticing others to join.
The lighting unites the interior and adjacent outdoor spaces to provide a safe, warm and inviting ambiance. A combination of thoughtfully layered illumination, careful selection of technologies and a meticulous lighting control strategies allow for highly efficient and easy to maintain lighting system.
The project was completed while employed as Lead Designer at CD+M Lighting Design.
